They point out that the community recreation centers already offer these activities, along with shuffleboard and other pastimes, often paired with organized leagues. Bringing similar options into the squares, they argue, could create another layer of entertainment and encourage friendly competition among neighbors.
Supporters believe the concept would enhance the social atmosphere, giving residents a reason to linger before or after the nightly bands. Group leagues for pool or darts could be scheduled alongside live entertainment, making for a more dynamic evening experience.
